Guinda, California — Casey Flat Ranch, the Capay Valley’s leading producer of award-winning, artisan Bordeaux and Rhone style wines, is thrilled to announce the launch of consumer tasting experiences at the ranch. Ideally located high in the Vaca Mountain Range, the sprawling property anchors the rugged western border of Northern California’s Yolo County overlooking the Napa Valley and Lake Berryessa to the southwest and the Capay Valley to the east. A 90-minute drive from San Francisco and 45 minutes from Sacramento, the ranch is 22 miles north east of St. Helena as the crow flies.

Longhorn Cattle Sighting at the RanchFormerly used as a family retreat for Managing Partner Alison Morey Garrett and her family, she is proud to welcome consumers to what has become a true wine destination for connoisseurs, adventurous travelers and curious wine lovers alike. Alison says, “We are so excited to showcase the ranch. This will be like no other tour in wine country, and well worth the drive. After all, where else can you taste world-class wine alongside longhorn cattle and such breathtaking vistas?”

Casey Flat Ranch is an expansive 6000-acre mountainous property, unique for its vast landscape and the plethora of wildlife it supports. The terrain is dramatic and diverse, elevations range from 300 feet to 2400 feet, with both gentle and steep slopes cascading down onto large plateaus or flats and pastures. A pristine natural sanctuary, it is not uncommon for visitors to encounter quail, turkey, deer and the occasional mountain lion, black bear, bobcat and coyote.

The property is also a working cattle ranch, supporting a herd of purebred longhorn cattle, as represented by the winery’s label art and aesthetic. Private visits with the ranch’s livestock manager can also be arranged.
