Wente Vineyards Partners with AMTRAK for California Wine Month

13 September, 2012

Livermore, CA – In honor of California Wine Month this September, America’s rail line, AMTRAK, will highlight two wines from America’s oldest, continuously operated family-owned winery, Wente Vineyards, on the Coast Starlight train.   Featured will be Wente Vineyards’ crisp “Morning Fog” Chardonnay as well as their rich, yet balanced, “Southern Hills” Cabernet Sauvignon. AMTRAK is proud to have been selected as a national partner for California Wine Month and looks forward to sharing the flavors of California and Wente Vineyards with their passengers during this month-long celebration.

2012 marks the 100th anniversary of Wente Vineyards bringing Chardonnay cuttings from France to California, which has become the most widely planted Chardonnay clone in the state. Many other significant firsts from the Wente family, including varietal labeling and a long-standing commitment to sustainability, have established the family as a beachhead in California winemaking history.

Wente Vineyards continues to be the premier wine choice for travelers around the world. Early to export their wines and make them available to travelers both domestically and internationally, their wines are served aboard top international airlines and cruise lines, including American Airlines, Delta, Virgin, United, Regent Seven Seas, Oceania Cruises, Princess Cruises and Celebrity Cruise Lines among others.
