About

Meaning “The Spirit” in the local Native tongue, Neyen’s fruitful history dates back to 1889. That was the year own-rooted Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted which continue to provide much-coveted fruit for their wines today. Neyen was the first winery founded in the Apalta region, found at the southern meeting place of the Andes Mountains and the Coastal Range. Highly volcanic soils rich in granite and the Tinguiririca river’s meandering over the centuries have combined for a terroir unlike any in Chile - or the world for that matter.

Out of deep respect for the natural beauty and history of the estate, Neyen’s winemaking team has committed itself to using organic practices that will enhance and protect the terroir.  These practices also allow the wines to be faithful expressions of a dynamic region that is now coming into world recognition. Every vintage, Neyen creates one masterful blend of estate grown cabernet sauvignon and carmenere from their centenary vines.
