Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG will be at Prowein 2022

Solighetto, Italy - May 12, 2022 - From May 15-17, 2022 the Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG will be in Düsseldorf, Germany for Prowein, attending with 24 wineries.
Notable launches and events:

  • Launch of the 2021 vintage
The German market is second only to the UK for both volume and value: in 2021 exports to Germany increased to 7.6 million bottles (+10.5%) and 47.2 million euros (+10.4%). Exports to the UK increased to 9,6 million bottles (+18,2%) and 50 million euros ( +7,5%).

These figures reflect the investment of the Consorzio in sustained and innovative programs of education and promotion in key export markets with the objective of communicating the differentiating style and quality of their denomination.

The Consorzio will launch the 2021 vintage at Prowein. Characteristis of the 2021 growing season started with temperatures slightly above average, followed by a mutable spring with variable temperatues and rainfall. Summer, on the other hand, was stable. June was exceptionally warm.  The resulting wines express a well-balanced Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore profile with pleasing acidity and expressive fruit character.

Visitors to the stand (D05 Hall 15) can also learn more about the denomination and its unique subzones and categories, including Rive and Cartizze. There will also be a wide range of wines from the newest style types, Sui Lieviti and Extra Brut.

A masterclass on Rive and Cartizze will be led by Sebastian Bordthäuser on May 16th at 2pm at Meininger Verlag Stand Halle 4 / A 20. The class will conducted in the German language only.  Registration is at the door and no prior sign up is required.
